The holder itself is way too small so the ash from the incense sticks falls all over the surface below the dish. It barely catches any of the ash so is pretty to look at but is pretty much useless. Also the hole to place the incense sticks in to is way too wide so they fall around everywhere, I had to put some bluetack underneath the hole to basically hold the incense stick in place. All in all, style over substance and a pretty useless object
